I designed El Camino thinking about creating a memorable ship, with some characteristics that give a lot of actual functionality and a lot of character as well, the mechanical and tough look had to be part of this old ship, but at the same time of course it has to look "cool" in the sense of more agile than other cargo ships, it can maneuver more like a fighter almost.
Raul Campos was the lead 3D modeler for this project and I think he did a great job, along my Co-Director and Producer ( https://www.artstation.com/win_campos ) I think we achieved an iconic shape that definitely stands out.
We of course wanted more of this ship, so I took it to my friends at https://haxu3d.com/en/, and they did the awesome 3D printing and detailing of 2 ships, this only confirm how cool the design turned out.

El Camino fly by, for this shot I wanted to show off the detail that Raul achieved here. it was just an excuse for it, that's why it's flying slow closer to the camera *uncropped
For this shot, the cargo detaches from the main ship, I did animation, lighting and rendering and comp.
