In Class Demo – Modular Industrial City
Another year of not being able to show all the artwork I have been creating professionally, but here is my latest In Class Demo.
Each semester, I build a new environment from scratch for my students. I want them to see the real process behind creating a cinematic image: the early rough ideas, the mistakes, the design changes, the problem solving, and the artistic and technical tricks we use in production.
For this demo, I wanted to create a more advanced modular industrial city. Everything was designed, modeled, assembled, and rendered in Blender, with a strong focus on scale, mood, cinematography, and storytelling through a small sequence of images.
I wanted to play with some old Matte Painting techniques here to fill up the BG, all the post FX with optical artifacts and dirt to make it look like a frame from a movie.
This scene also includes some assets created by my students ( Mike García, Ariana Rodríguez, Fernanda Rosas and Fernando Alvarez ) which helped bring the environment together. Great job guys!
Created in Blender as part of my advanced environment design class demo.
